About Us

The Commemorative Air Force (CAF)'s mission is to educated, inspire and honor through flight and living history experiences. The Central Texas Wing of the CAF is housed in the WWII hangar at the San Marcos airport that was part of the San Marcos Army Air Base in WWII. Visit the Central Texas Wing to experience our musuem of WWII artifacts and 7 CAF aircraft including:
* C-47 That's All Brother, the actual C-47 Skytrain troop carrier that led the airborne invasion of Normandy on D-Day June 6th, 1944
• P-39Q Bell Airacobra, one of only 3 P39s still flying
• B-25 Mitchell Yellow Rose, like the B-25s flown in the Doolittle Raid Over Toyko in April 1941
• C-45 Expeditor Lone Star Lady – used for military transport during WWII
Also attend our annual Veterans' Day Hangar Dinner Dance, held each year. Individual and group visitors are welcome for hangar tours.
