The San Marcos River Foundation (SMRF) is a non-profit which was created in 1985 to protect and preserve the quality and quantity of the San Marcos River. We host trash clean ups, monitor water quality, collaborate with municipalities within the San Marcos River watershed, monitor in-coming wastewater treatment permit requests, protect land over the recharge zone, collaborate with trail building groups, protect SMRF's East Side Preserve, educate landowners on best practices, and more.
